Cassandra Nicolaou / Content Producer

Content Producer Cassandra Nicolaou is a graduate of the Canadian Film Centre’s Directors’ Lab and brings 15 years of film, TV and online content creation to our team. Cassandra first dabbled in the world of new media as an undergrad in Systems Design Engineering at the University of Waterloo. Two workterms worth of staring at code sent her running to the Department of English Literature, where she completed her Honours BA with a specialization in Arts Management. Feeling that her interests weren’t quite broad enough, Cassandra began working in film production, and wrote and directed several award-winning short films before attending the Canadian Film Centre. In 2004 she completed her feature “Show Me” and has more recently ventured into the world of documentary with her film “Girls on Top”.

Cassandra’s transition to the world of web-based creation and dissemination is a natural on many levels, and she finds the immediacy of online media a refreshing antidote to the slow-as-molasses labours of film development.
